Ref: Power Court Application 16/01400 and Newlands Park Application 16/01401
I recently signed a new three-year contract to play for Luton Town and one of the major incentives in me doing that was all the positivity around the possibility of the new stadium at Power Court. All footballers aspire to play at the best grounds in the country and for me, the Power Court stadium design will be right up there maybe not the biggest but surely the best.
I don't live in Luton but not far away, but I speak to the fans all the time and like to think I understand what they want for the club and town. I've not heard one person say anything negative about the possibility of moving ground it's something the whole fanbase seems to want, and from what I hear, the entire local population does too.
The Newlands Park plans also look stunning. Somewhere like that would encourage players like myself to spend more time and money there, rather than heading into London or the big shopping complexes near me after a hard day training.
I know this has been a long time coming so it seems to be like this is a one in a million opportunity for everyone, so I hope the council recognises that and pushes the planning applications through.
