Andy Awford

Academy Manager, Luton Town FC

Dear Sir/Madame,

Power Court: 16/01400
Newlands Park: 16/01401

Although I do not live in the Borough of Luton, I am currently the Academy Manager at Luton Town Football Club and therefore spend a large proportion of my week in the town. Having quickly engaged with the local people and experienced first-hand their enthusiasm and passion for both their football club and their town, I would like to offer my undivided support to both of the planning applications for Power Court and Newlands Park.

The opportunity for me to see our current crop of exciting Academy players, be presented with an amazing opportunity to play at Power Court, in a new state of the art stadium in the not too distant future would be simply mind blowing. The plans look absolutely fantastic and will provide us, the Academy, with another real strong recruitment tool to entice the 'elite talent' from the surrounding areas to our football club.

The transport links will provide everyone with such easy access to get to Power Court and the whole match day experience will be such a positive occasion it will no doubt inspire future generations.

The venue also being able to host alternative events can only be a positive thing for the town centre and will bring the area some much needed spark and zest.

I also think the proposal for Newlands Park look stunning and will provide the town with a complex it can be truly proud of. At present, the nearby areas of Watford and Milton Keynes appear to appeal more as they can offer things that Luton cannot. Newlands Park will change this and surely will encourage more people to Luton which will benefit everyone both commercially and financially.

I sincerely hope that Luton Council approve both applications as I think this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to help the town of Luton flourish, excel and prosper.

Yours sincerely,

Andy Awford
