Former Luton Town player
Its four decades since I started playing football on the playing fields of Luton dreaming of playing for the Town at Kenilworth Road. I managed to fulfil that schoolboy dream and represented my hometown club for nearly ten years in two spells.
Times change and the next generation need something new to aspire to. The old place has more than served its purpose and from what I can see from the clubs plans for Power Court, there could soon be one of the best football stadiums in the country for local kids to dream of running out in.
As a Luton resident, I cant begin to explain how much good Power Court and Newlands Park will bring to the area. 10,000 new jobs and £250m brought into the local economy is unbelievable. Ive got family and friends who will benefit, and for me to see a damaged, derelict piece of land brought back to life will breathe new life into the town I love.
As a Luton resident I would also enjoy the new leisure and shops at Junction 10.
There is not much to attract visitors at the minute, but 2020s vision will change that so I wholeheartedly throw my support behind the planning applications for Power Court 16/01400 and Newlands Park 16/01401. Please help make Luton great again.
