Jordan Cook

Luton Town player

Dear Luton Borough Council,

I would like to give my full support to the plans: Power Court16/01400 & Newlands Park 16/01401.

I joined Luton Town FC in the summer and I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. However, I currently live in Hitchin and I am unaware of any first team players who actually move to the club and live in Luton permanently. I personally put this down to the fact there isn’t all that much to do in Luton. This is why Newlands Park to me looks like it would be of a huge benefit to the local area, and would interest people to come to Luton to spend money, in particular, people of a similar age to myself.

When my family come to visit, they will come to Kenilworth Road to watch me play, but then we go back to Hitchin and go out to a restaurant closer to home instead of going into Luton town centre. With different places to eat proposed as part of the plans, I see no reason why I wouldn’t take my family there when they visit, or stay around Power Court after a game mingling with the fans and being right in the thick of the community.

Power Court could prove to be huge for the local area. I started my career at Sunderland and grew up in the north-east, so I have seen what a new stadium can do as the Stadium of Light helped put my hometown back on the map. Power Court and Newlands Park could do the same for Luton.

For these reasons, I hope Luton Borough Council give the go ahead for both.
Regards,
Jordan Cook
