Christian Walton

Luton Town player

Dear Luton Council,

I would like to give my support to Power Court 16/01400 & Newlands Park 16/01401.

Having joined Luton Town on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion until next summer, it is fair to say I am fairly new to the way of life around here. However, what I have learned quite quickly is there isn’t very much to do in Luton. That’s why I think the building of Newlands Park is really important to the local area, people would have somewhere to shop and have something to do. The facilities that are offered with it make it look like a really interesting place to be. The cinema would be ideal for an afternoon after training, for example.

I have seen what a new stadium can do to a local area, as The Amex has brought a new lease of life to Brighton. People are able to use the train station there, as well as giving home and away fans a great experience. It’s somewhere I really want to play week in, week out in the not too distant future, and I think Power Court would create that feeling for a lot of young players who are with Luton.

My flat mate Glen Rea, who was at Brighton with me, joined the club permanently in the summer and I will be up visiting him regularly when my loan finishes, so I hope to see the finished product in years to come.

Kind regards,

Christian Walton
